My Name is Luchetta

I'm not here on Earth
just for the breathing
I spent another day seeing
clinging to my hope of better days
and believing
That the best is ahead
I'm playing the world's game
Simon Says
I try to orchestrate the moves
plan ahead
If I don't keep up
slothful means game over
I'm dead
no, no, no
not death in the physical
but mental, spiritual
I'm keeping my hope alive
If I don't
my dreams and visions
will surely die
Like when Jesse Jackson
didn't make president
My purpose takes precedence
over everything
If need be
I will
revive
one dream at a time
watching the screen for flatlines
It's hard dealing with
the spiritually dumb, deaf, and blind
The ones who shunned light
making darkness right
I fight to keep sane
As temptation knocks on my door
I swear I hear him
calling my name
I don't answer
That name is no longer familiar
to me
I no longer answer to defeat
