wrong number

When you're strong enough to live through your past
Yet, it won't stay where it belongs
The nightmares have began
Making me feel alone
The wrong person got called home
(Praying that God would bless me to have no encounters with this individual funerals and weddings sometimes conjures up individuals you may not want to see

what I leave

I originally wrote this poem for my kids ahead of time for my last words of encouragement to them upon my dead. It is everything that my mom would say as well, so I am going to read it at her funeral tomorrow

What I leave?

What I leave?

I wanna leave you pieces of me
When you dream your dreams
Travel, life, and journey
Remember my legacy
Reach for the things that you imagine are out of reach
The sky’s the limit
But, don’t let the sky be your limit
Space is sufficient
God is omnipresent
Never miss ‘em
Read and learn
It’s your turn to
To make a name
Pursue a gain
Your calling
Don’t be embarrassed of falling
Pick yourself up
Dust yourself off
It is a beautiful view at the mountain top
Never accept failure
Never stop
People are fake
And at the end of the day
They will leave you all alone
When things don’t go their way
You may detour but never stray
Ignore the negative things ignorant people say
Hold your head up high
The devil is a lie
Don’t be afraid to ask God why?
What I leave?
I leave you joy, peace, and happiness
And to my children, friends and loved ones
I’m still very much alive
God bless
